About QuoteCheckPros
QuoteCheckPros helps UK customers understand quotes they have received for supported building, home improvement, landscaping and vehicle-repair work before they agree to them.
You upload or type in the quote you have been given, pay a one-off £9.99, and receive a written report that explains what you are being asked to pay for, which parts look consistent with the work described, which parts are unclear, and what you could sensibly ask the tradesperson before agreeing.
QuoteCheck provides an independent second opinion based solely on the information you supply. We are not a tradesperson directory or marketplace, we do not take commission from tradespeople, and we do not recommend anyone to carry out your work.
How QuoteCheck works out the estimate
Your quote is reviewed against the things that normally determine what a job of that type should cost. At a high level, the analysis may consider:
Job type and scope
What is being done, how much of it, and whether the scope in the quote is described clearly enough to price.
Labour
The amount of skilled time the described work would usually involve, and how the quote presents day rates or fixed prices.
Materials and parts
The materials or parts listed, their specification, and whether they are itemised or bundled into a single figure.
VAT
Whether VAT is shown, included, excluded or not mentioned at all — a common source of confusion.
Waste and disposal
Skips, tipping, removal of old materials, and whether those costs sit inside or outside the quoted figure.
Access and site conditions
Scaffolding, parking, restricted access or working conditions that reasonably change the price.
Complexity
Anything that makes the job harder than a straightforward version of the same work.
Vehicle details
For supported car repairs, the make, model, year and engine you supply, because parts and labour times vary by vehicle.
Missing information
Where the quote does not say enough to judge a line, we say so rather than guessing.
Exclusions
What the quote explicitly does not cover, and what is commonly excluded but not stated.
Provisional sums and payment terms
Where relevant, allowances, provisional sums, deposits and staged payments.
Being clear about the limits: QuoteCheck does not claim to have live nationwide pricing data. No verified live pricing feed is connected to this service. Ranges are indicative and based on the information in your quote and general UK cost context — they are an estimate and a second opinion, not a valuation, and we do not guarantee that any quote is fair, unfair or accurate. The decision to accept a quote is always yours.
